IQNA – A famous qair in Egypt has been sentenced to six months in prison for his unconventional behavior while reciting the Quran recently.

Egyptian qari Mohamed Nasr al-Taruti has received a six-month jail term

 

Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Nasr Ali Qutb, known as Mohamed Nasr al-Taruti has received the jail term.

The country’s Association of Quran Reciters and Memorizers announced this, according to Egypt Today.

The association said it would take a firm stand against violations committed during the recitation of the Quran.

Sheikh Mohamed Hashad, the head of the association, said it makes efforts to protect the status of the Holy Book in Egyptian society and the leading role of the country in Quran recitation in the Muslims world.

That is why the association will take a firm stance against any violations in this field, he added.

Footage of Mohamed Nasr al-Taruti’s improper behavior during a recent Quran recitation has angered many people in Egypt.

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 100 million.
